I offer a variety of workshops and courses to help motivate people at all levels to join the movement for equity and justice.
Building an Equity Mindset This class will help participants identify implicit and explicit forms of inequity that are pervasive in our society and their effects, as well as explain the methods through which inequity is perpetuated. Students will learn about how oppression operates at interpersonal, institutional, and ideological levels through a specific analysis of the system of racism. This course is entirely online and takes approximately 16 hours. Participants who complete this class are eligible for the next 16 hour online course in the series: Applying an Equity Mindset. See sample syllabus here.
Disrupting Racism: Foundations for Concerned White People
This workshop helps people with racial privilege learn about how they can be more accountable and effective collaborators in dismantling systemic racism. It works best as a four-part series, takingapproximately 12 hours total. See sample syllabus here.
Leadership for Social Justice This course examines three key global problems (racism, classism, and sexism) through a critical social justice lens, with the goal of helping participants identify these problems in their own communities and begin to act as leaders in solving them. The 10-module course takes approximately 30 hours.
Raising Antiracist Kids This presentation explains why cultural competency and racial literacy are critical skills parents must teach their children at home. Parents will leave compelled to add "antiracism" as a family value in their homes, and will be equipped to get started right away. This presentation is 1-2 hours, depending on the request.
